In this industry of cell phones exists two types of touchscreens displays. One type of display is the display with resistive touchscreen and the other one is the display with capacitive touchscreen. Resistive touchscreen displays are composed of multiple layers that are separated by thin spaces. Pressure applied to the surface of the display by a finger or stylus causes the layers to touch, which completes electrical circuits and tells the device where the user is touching. As such, resistive type touchscreens require much more pressure to activate than capacitive touchscreens.

Nokia N9000 with resistive touchscreen
Nokia N9000 is a smartphone from Nokia, and is Nokia’s first Maemo 5-powered handset. Maemo 5 is an open-source platform developed within Nokia and based on Linux.
Its 3.5-inch resistive touchscreen display sports a WVGA with a maximum resolution of 800×480 pixels, which should make it a very capable web browser and multimedia player.
The measure of the phone are 111mm in length, 60mm in width and 19.5mm, with a weight of 181g. Sony Ericsson XPERIA X2 with resistive touchscreen
This phone was presented by us in other article about android phones, but now we present again the phone because is a subject of our topic. It’s the first Windows Mobile smartphone with an 8 megapixel camera with touch focus and WVGA video recording and it’s actually the first ever full QWERTY phone to have that sort of imaging prowess as well.
