Nokia phones by end of 2009

Nokia is the world leader in mobility, driving the transformation and growth of the converging Internet and communications industries.

It is the world’s largest manufacturer of mobile telephones: its global device market share was about 38% in Q3 2009, at the same level as in Q3 2008 and in Q2 2009. Nokia produces mobile devices for every major market segment and protocol, including GSM, CDMA, and W-CDMA (UMTS). Nokia offers Internet services that enable people to experience music, maps, media, messaging and games.

This article will describe the Nokia phones to be launched by the end of 2009.

We will start with the phones that will be released on 2009 November, and these are: Nokia N97 mini, Nokia X3, Nokia N9000, Nokia 3710 Fold and Nokia 7020; and we will continue with the phones that will be released in 2009 December, and these are: Nokia 6788, Nokia X6, Nokia 5230 and Nokia 3208c.

Nokia N97 mini

The Nokia N97 mini was first presented on the 1st of September 2009 in Stuttgart. When the designers for Nokia has thinking to create this phone,they take the original N97 and create a different design, with sliding opening and improved features.

This is a Quadband GSM and UMTS equipped with HSDPA touchscreen display 3.2 megapixel resolution with 640×360 pixels and 16 million colors, 5 megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics, 8 GB of internal memory, Symbian OS v 9.4 S60 fifth edition, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi connectivity, integrated GPS receiver, Nokia Maps, media player and FM radio, video calling, proximity sensor, accelerometer and qwerty keyboard that pops up.

Between Nokia N97 and Nokia N97 mini we can observed three primary differences, and first of these is that Nokia N97 mini has a memory of 8GB and Nokia N97 has a 32 GB memory size, the second difference is that N97 Mini has a smaller battery and hence less talk time and standby by 20%, and the last difference is that N97 Mini has lost few mm in width and thickness.

The display of Nokia N97 mini is 0.3-inches smaller than the original, scrapped the D-pad in favour of arrow keys, and overhauled the keyboard to be more tactile.

About the features of Nokia N97 mini, you can personalize your homepage with widgets that give you the live feed of social networks, press agencies and weather information, other features is that you can add bookmarks and links to contacts on your main page and you have your websites and your friends just a touch away.

With Nokia N97 mini you can manage your email, calendar and music with dedicated widget for your page, and other feature is that you can move the contents on the main page and place it where you want by dragging your finger on the display multisensory.

Nokia X3

Nokia planning to releasing devices under two new sub-brands, the Xseries and Cseries. One of the Xseries phone is Nokia X3.

The Nokia X3 is designed first and foremost for music lovers and is also the first Series 40 Ovi Store-enabled device. The phone shows a large 2.2 inch TFT display, supporting up to 256,000 colours, with a QVGA resolution. The X3 also comes with a built in 3.2 megapixel autofocus camera, quad-band GSM support with GPRS and EDGE, Bluetooth, FM radio, 3.5mm audio jack, microSD slot and integrated stereo speakers.

Supports a range of formats like AAC, AAC+, AMR-NB, AMR-WB, eAAC+, M4A, MIDI Tones, MP3, MP4, SP-MIDI, True tones, WAV, WMA.

There´s a 3.2 megapixel camera that takes decent still snaps and impressive video clips. Shoot, edit and share video clips to Facebook thanks to the pre-installed software, or geo-tag and upload to Flickr directly.

The X3 does have a really nice web browser, and with auto screen rotation, you can get the best web browsing experience by browsing using the device in landscape mode.

Email is also as easy as can be to set-up, and you can combine all your inboxes into one, including support for Yahoo! Mail, Gmail, Hotmail and most other POP3/IMAP email clients.

Nokia X3 02

One of the features of Nokia X3 is active home screen, this lets you see your contacts, friends or the track you are playing. There are also animated wallpapers to show signal and battery strength. Other interesting application is Ovi Store, that makes it easy to download games, videos, podcasts, applications and much more for your mobile.

Nokia N900

We write a short review about Nokia N900 into other article about phones with resistive touchscreens, and we say that Nokia N900 is a smartphone from Nokia, and is Nokia’s first Maemo 5-powered handset. Maemo 5 is an open-source platform developed within Nokia and based on Linux.

Large 111 x 59.7 x 18.2 mm and weighing 180 grams, has a large touchscreen display 3.5 “with a resolution of 800 x 480 pixels. The camera, however, shoot photos up to 5 Megapixel camera with autofocus and dual LED flash. It uses a microUSB port for charging, weirdly has the lock button at the top of the device.

Nokia N900

The technical specification includes an ARM Cortex-A8 600 MHz processor with 256MB of RAM (and 768MB of virtual memory) which makes the phone to move very well.

Items that can be placed on the device’s homescreen(s) as click-able thumbnails are the likes of app shortcuts, contacts, web bookmarks – the last of which actually update realtime with the teeny thumbnails animated where applicable. This is thanks to the full Flash support the phone offers.

The browser on the N900 is based on Mozilla open source browser technology, which is the basis of the highly rated Firefox PC browser. Once a website has been loaded, you can press on the screen and ‘drag’ the screen up and down for easy navigation. To zoom in on a particular area of a web page, you can either double tap the screen, or alternatively draw a circle on the screen with your finger, drawing clockwise to zoom in and anti clockwise to zoom out.

Nokia 3710 fold

The compact Nokia 3710 fold handset adds a personal touch with an artistic pattern on the cover. Along with a variety of able features, the phone includes a hidden display on the cover of the device that displays information behind an artistic pattern. The Nokia 3710 fold supports GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 on 2G network and UMTS 850 / 1900 / 2100 on 3G network. The 3710 fold is based on Series 40 backbone and comes with support for Ovi Store.

Nokia has now unveiled their first mobile phone for China Mobile. The handset is for the Chinese 3G TD-SCDMA standard. China has the most mobile phone users of any country in the world making it a large market for mobile providers. This phone can be the largest source of mobile subscribers can help Nokia relieve their pain for their low grasp on the smartphone territory.

Nokia 3208 c

Nokia 3208 c is the second phone announced from Nokia that is destined for China country. It has a touchscreen in order to assist handwriting, like its predecessor the Nokia 6208c, but it doesn’t run on Symbian as we would have expected.
