After Android phones, it’s time to write about Microsoft Windows Mobile phones. Windows Mobile is a compact operating system developed by Microsoft, and designed for use in smartphones and mobile devices.
It is based on Windows CE, and features a suite of basic applications developed using the Microsoft Win32 API. It is designed to be somewhat similar to desktop versions of Windows, feature-wise and aesthetically. Additionally, third-party software development is available for Windows Mobile, and software can be purchased via the Windows Marketplace for Mobile.
Originally appearing as the Pocket PC 2000 operating system, Windows Mobile has been updated multiple times, with the current version being Windows Mobile 6.5. Most Windows Mobile phones come with a stylus pen, which is used to enter commands by tapping it on the screen.

Windows Mobile on HTC HD2
The HTC HD2 is a sequel to the HTC Touch HD. The major features of the HTC HD2 are similar to its previous model but only with a few minor changes. The display on the HD2 absolutely dominates the handset, measuring in at a breath taking 4.3 inches, with a pixel resolution of 480 x 800, supporting up to 65,000 colours. The HD2 is the first device running Windows Mobile to come with a capacitive touchscreen, so there is no need for fiddling around with a tiny stylus.

Also, there is microS (TransFlash) card slot for expanding memory up to 8GB.
The HD2 brings a high quality 5.0 Megapixel camera, with Autofocus and an LED flash. Thanks to the built in GPS, the HD2 can embed positioning data into the digital information on captured images, which can be displayed when viewed online. Video recording is enabled, but there is no front facing camera, so no 3G video calls.
Windows Mobile on Sony Ericsson XPERIA X2
It´s the first Windows phone of the company, meaning it runs Windows Mobile 6.5. The panel interface we know from the X1 haunts us again, but it has been revamped and the manufacturer´s personalization pack seems to have taken over the standard Windows interface deeper. The XPERIA X2 sports 8-megapixel camera with touch focus, larger display, new keyboard and navigational keys design, plus a microUSB port. The Xperia X1 features a 3-inch touch screen that displays 65,536 colors at an 800×480 pixel resolution.

At 4.4 inches tall by 2.1 inches wide by 0.7 inch deep and 5.6 ounces, the Xperia X1 is compact and has a nice, solid construction. The phone is available in two colors: silver or black.
The phone has a Qualcomm MSM 7200 528 MHz processor and runs a Windows Mobile 6.5 Professional Edition. It has a RAM of 256 MB and ROM of 512 MB.
