In other article we write about the biggest car manufacturers from Japan, and now it’s in the world, we write about Toyota, and now we write about the other car manufacturers from Japan, and this is Honda.

Honda is the world’s largest manufacturer of motorcycles as well as the world’s largest manufacturer of internal combustion engines measured by volume. Honda surpassed Nissan in 2001 to become the second-largest Japanese automobile manufacturer.

Honda was the first Japanese automobile manufacturer to release a dedicated luxury brand, Acura in 1986. Aside from their core automobile and motorcycle businesses, Honda also manufactures garden equipment, marine engines, personal watercraft and power generators, amongst others.

In this article you cand read about the 2010 cars from Honda, what it’s new on these and what they have improved.

Honda Accord 2010

The 2010 Honda Accord lineup is getting a features upgrade on certain models with an expanded application of Bluetooth HandsFreeLink to vehicles equipped with leather seating surfaces and new rear-seat ventilation ducts on Accord Sedan EX and EX-L models for more-direct rear passenger airflow.

This year’s model comes with an optional V-6 engine in addition to its standard 5 speed automatic and manual transmissions. The V-6 Accord coupe has a six speed tranny and pumps out a mega dose of 268 horsepower, making sure to get you going. Though the new styling has left a bit to be desired in the notchy shift with a bit of an abrupt clutch take-up, it still has new power.

Three audio systems are available all with MP3/Windows Media Audio (WMA) playback capability and an auxiliary input jack. The standard system provides a single-disc CD player, six speakers, and 160 watts of power. A radio data system (RDS) displays information broadcast by participating radio stations that often includes call letters, station type (searchable by genre) and programming information. Steering wheel audio controls come standard on every Accord. The Accord Sedan EX and Coupe LX-S add a six-disc in-dash changer.

Honda Accors Crosstour 2010

The new 2010 Honda Accord Crosstour is reshaped and more aerodynamic version of the famous Accord sedan. With its sleek new exterior vision, the new Accord Crosstour will also feature a new and more versatile, upscale 5-passenger interior with an innovative rear storage area, a standard 3.5-liter i-VTEC V-6 engine.

The 2010 Honda Accord Crosstour competes most directly with the Toyota Venza, another attempt at redefining the crossover with more sedan-like lines that debuted last year. By packaging, pricing, and marketing this vehicle on the high-end of the five-passenger crossover segment, Honda is targeting both empty nesters and young couples moving from either a smaller or larger vehicle into this growing segment.

Its V-6 engine is standard in the Crosstour, as is a five-speed automatic transmission. Trim levels include the well-equipped EX and gussied-up EX-L. All-wheel drive, unavailable on the sedan, is optional on the Crosstour EX-L.

2010 Honda Accord Crosstour EX-L

The Accord Crosstour EX offers: dual-zone automatic air conditioning with second row ventilation, 360-Watt AM/FM 6-disc audio system with seven speakers, easy fold-down 60-40 split rear seat back, 17-inch aluminum wheels, hidden removable utility box, cruise control, moonroof, auto up/down driver and front passenger side windows, rear privacy glass, steering wheel-integrated audio controls, compass and outside temperature indicator, projector beam headlights with auto-off, fog lights, chrome door handles, body-colored power side mirrors with defrost, and more.

2010 Honda CR-V

Honda has made some significant changes to the powertrain to help it compete with more fuel-efficient models like the Toyota RAV4. The 2010 Honda CR-V styling gets freshened and some interior details are altered, but this five-passenger four-door wagon retains the basic shape and dimensions it’s sported since 2007. The 2010 CR-V exterior styling updates involve changes the nose and tail. In front, the grille’s upper portion trades double slats for a single chrome-style crossbar. The lower portion gains a honeycomb design. And the bumper’s painted surface extends lower to supplant some black cladding.

The 2010 Honda CRV EX is powered by a 2.4-liter i-VTEC inline four that delivers 162 horsepower and 162 pounds-per-foot of torque, with more than adequate power. CRV transmissions are pretty remarkable, too.

The standard features of the Honda CR-V EX include 5-speed automatic transmission with overdrive, 4-wheel anti-lock brakes (ABS), side seat mounted airbags, curtain 1st and 2nd row overhead airbags, airbag occupancy sensor, air conditioning, 17″ alloy wheels, cruise control, ABS and driveline traction control, and a four-wheel drive.

Colors for 2010 include Opal Sage Metallic (new), Royal Blue Pearl, Taffeta White, Glacier Blue Metallic, Polished Metal Metallic (new), Alabaster Silver Metallic, Crystal Black Pearl, Tango Red Pearl and Urban Titanium Metallic. Interior color choices, determined by exterior color, include Ivory, Black or Gray.

2010 Honda CR-V adds Bluetooth cell-pone connectivity and a USB audio interface for iPods and other MP3 players.

2010 Honda Element

The new 2010 Honda Element is perfect, eye-catching great utility vehicle. If you prefer utility and look-at-me style over comfort, the Honda Element is a steal. But for a sportier ride or higher comfort levels, consider other affordable options, such as the Volkswagen Tiguan or Honda CR-V.

2007 Honda Element EX

2010 Honda Element valve shock absorbers use a low-pressure gas and heavy-duty, high-density compression bushings to absorb small vibrations control larger sharp movements for a more comfortable ride. New features for 2010 includes:

  • New LX trim level adds popular features to DX trim level
  • Passenger seat armrest added to EX
  • Keyless Entry added to EX
  • Bungee cords added on EX to driver-side front and rear seat backs
  • Fiji Blue Pearl exterior color replaces Eternal Blue Pearl

This box-like compact SUV seats four and has rear-hinged rear side doors that don’t open independently of the front doors. The only engine is a 166-hp 2.4-liter 4-cylinder that teams with a 5-speed automatic transmission. The manual transmission has been discontinued. Maximum towing capacity is 1500 lb. Element comes in LX, EX, and sport-themed SC trim levels, and all are available with front-wheel drive. LX and EX also offer all-wheel drive.

2010 Honda Element EX models comes equipped with a 270-watt 7-speaker (with subwoofer) AM/FM/CD sound system and an auxiliary audio input built into the dash for digital media and MP3 players.

2010 Honda Insight

Honda’s new affordable hybrid is called the Insight. This gas/electric hybrid car is a five-passenger, 4-door hatchback that mates a 1.3-liter 4-cylinder engine with a battery-powered electric motor for 98 hp. Honda’s hybrid system allows Insight to run on one or both of its power sources.

2010 Honda Insight

Honda saw the success that Toyota enjoyed with the Prius as an instantly recognizable alternative powertrain vehicle, so with the same engineering and aesthetic goals in mind, Honda’s designers followed a similar aerodynamic path.

LX and EX trim levels are available. Available safety features include ABS, traction control, antiskid system, curtain side airbags, and front side airbags. EX comes with cruise control, steering-wheel-mounted paddle shifters, alloy wheels, heated power mirrors, and an upgraded audio system. A navigation system is available, and Insights so equipped are priced as separate models. They also include a wireless cell-phone link.

Insight EX models add alloy wheels, cruise control, 6-speaker audio system with USB audio interface, steering-wheel mounted paddle shifters, Honda Vehicle Stability Assist and an available Honda Satellite-Linked Navigation System with Voice Recognition.

Honda Insight

Honda’s Integrated Motor Assist (IMA) system works with a 1.3-liter VTEC four-cylinder engine, helping it out during acceleration and recharging the battery system during coasting and braking. Altogether, the system produces 123 pound-feet of torque and 98 horsepower. A start/stop system turns off the gasoline engine to save fuel at stoplights. Unlike the system in the Toyota Prius or Ford vehicles, the hybrid powertrain in the 2010 Honda Insight can’t start up from a standstill on electric power alone, but it can maintain a 30-mph cruise with solely electric power.

2010 Honda CR-Z

First unveiled two years ago at the Tokyo Motor Show, the sporty two-passenger Honda CR-Z Hybrid is back again in Tokyo in 2009. Honda CR-Z hybrid sports car will go on sale in February 2010 and the Honda Fit Hybrid will go on sale before the end of 2010.

Honda 01

Mechanically speaking the most interesting thing about the CR-Z is that it’s a hybrid that will come with a manual transmission. Meaning that in a lot of ways, the CR-Z will be sort of like a green updating of the much loved, and much missed, Honda CR-X. No the CR-X wasn’t exactly a sportscar, but it wasn’t exactly boring either.

In the case of the CR-Z, we get the same mill from the Insight hybrid, only with an increase in displacement up to 1.5 liters. And rather than being hooked up to a slush-box, the CR-Z gets a six-speed tranny, making it the first hybrid with a manual available.

Honda 02

Light, sporty and futuristic are the keywords. The design features an oversized front grille with small openings on each side of the front panel. The CR-Z clearly borrows its overall shape from the Honda CRX sports car, a version of the Civic that was produced from 1984 to 1991. The CRX used a small and light profile to translate directly into sporty and speedy. CR-Z stands for Compact Renaissance Zero, which is meant to signify the company’s desire to give birth to a new era for compact highly efficient vehicles.
